CINDY'S BOOK LIST

Hi friends -

I figured since I was teaching first, I better get cracking on my list of books that I would most likely use on my days to teach.  I'm not too original here, so if you have these on your list too, I can find more.

Blueberries for Sal - I'd really like to use this one my first week.  I'd love to take the kids berry picking in Pescadero.  Marc will have the day off so he can come with me (he doesn't know that yet) the only challenge will be if we have 6 kids in our group -not enough seats in my car.  My back up- is making blueberry muffins with the kids.  Oh, and the berries will most likely be strawberries or blackberries.  Blueberries don't grow very well here :)  I thought this would be a good book to transition from summer to school

Eric Carle books - I love them all - but my favorite is the Hungry Catepillar and the Grouchy Ladybug
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
Skippyjon Jones
Ladybug Girl
Dr Suess Books - My favorites are Green Eggs and Ham and The Sneetches.  But there are so many I love.  One thought I had was a Dr. Suess week - around the time they do it in school (I think it's in March) - I don't have to do this week, and we can have Dr. Suess other weeks as well
If You Give a Mouse A Cookie - I actually love all the "If You Give" Books
Lily's Purple Plastic Purse
Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus

Ok - I can think of more, but is that a good start?  Oh, and I'm happy to teach any book.  Just as long as I have some prep time to 1) get the book and 2) come up with some lesson plan ideas.

Thanks
Cindy
